Articulation Matrix
(which schools participate)

Articulation Process

  1. High school personnel select a technical course that awards one Academic Credit.

  2. High school personnel contact local Tech Prep office and provide syllabus of class to be considered for articulation.

  3. Local Tech Prep staff contacts college department chairperson/professor(s) and present high school syllabus for review.

  4. Meeting is called to bring together high school faculty, college faculty, Tech Prep staff, and, possibly, private sector members of Advisory Committee.

  5. At meeting, specific details are discussed regarding the "Linkage" between the high school and college courses. College may request additional information. Tech Prep staff presents model of proposed 6-Year Plan.

  6. Tech Prep staff submits required documentation to the Texas Education Agency.

  7. After Texas Education Agency approves the program, they notify the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, who posts it on their web site.
